13th Annual SF Firefighters Dance Party

This time of year is filled with smells of fresh evergreens, cinnamon candles, crazy shoppers, reindeer poop, and of course all the holiday events that goes on in this great city. This past Saturday I attended SF Firefighter's 13th Annual Dance Party. A few co-workers and friends from the east bay came out to join me support this great event. Every year this event is put on to raise money and to collect toys for the SF Firefighters Toy Program. Without this program would leave thousands of kids from less fortunate families without anything to open on Christmas morning. So by giving something simple as a toy it can keep the spirit of Christmas alive for a few of these kids.

On the other note I just love good music and friends and this was a very fun event that I hope to attend year after year.

Christmas at the Kenyon's

Last Saturday we were invited over to the Kenyon's to enjoy a festive Christmas party with all the trimmings and little munchkin elves roaming around. And (can I start a sentence with "and"?) this happened to also be their house warming party, it's only taken about 6 months, but better late than never I always say.

Somewhere in the evening it was thought as a good idea to head to the garage and hang around the "Green Chariot", what was going on out there was my question? The evening then proceeded into a game of hearts, spoons and a competition to see if anyone can down 5 saltine crackers within a minute without any water. This is harder than it sounds. The second you stick a cracker in your month it just soaks up all the moisture and now you have NO saliva left to swallow. This was hilarious as pieces of crackers went flying everywhere.

Two Pounds of Cow

Tonight was my monthly car pool dinner. Each month my car pool gets together and picks a place where we can relax, throw back a few and do what we do best, eat. In the past our usual spots were Westlake Joe's, BJ's, Elephant Bar, and Beni Hana's. Tonight we wanted to do something a little special to end the year so we went onto yelp and searched for steak houses. What we found was this historical restaurant. It's the oldest restaurant in Millbrae named "Sixteen Mile House" and as of recent was also named the first "green" restaurant in Millbrae.

Let me just say that before we got here I already did research and knew exactly what I wanted a 24oz rib eye steak. With that said once we got seated our waitress told us our special and with my surprise what I found out is that they have a bone in 35oz rib eye! Did I hear that right, you can get half a cow? That's what I'm talking about, order up! The steak came out perfect and I must also give credit to their cream of corn. This is the best cream of corn my pallet has ever tasted. I proceeded to ask the waitress what makes their corn so creamy and she replied we use heavy, heavy cream with full fat. Mmm Mmm Mmm... I eventually massacred the steak to the bone with a second helping of corn and then ordered a chocolate cake for dessert :) My carpool friends got the mud pie and I must recommend this over the chocolate cake though.

So to sum it up if you're looking for a nice piece of meat come out to Sixteen Mile House, order a bottle of Murphy Goode's Liar's Dice Zinfandel and be in stored to literally roll out of this fine establishment after you're done.

Santa's Little Helpers

***Updated***
Here's the video from the incredible night!

Yesterday was one eventful day and night. First off we had a couple of big college games that were playing, UCLA vs. USC being one of them. So I met up with a few friends down at Blue Light in the Marina to hopefully watch an upset, but the only person that got upset was me(final score USC 28/UCLA 7).

After the game there was a few talks about what was going to be in store for tonight and Ally said she was going to the 6th Annual Elf Party. What's that you ask... Found out it's a charity event being held at the Broadway Studios to raise money for My Two Front Teeth and Baykids. Being the philanthropist person that I am I told myself what's $10 to help two great organizations :) Now that we had a plan what's an elf party without any elves. We drove all over the city to gather our costume for tonight and because it was a little nippy outside it was suggested by Ally that it's a great opportunity to head over to The Buena Vista down by Fisherman's Wharf to get some irish coffees. I've lived here for almost 6 years now and this is the first time I have been exposed to this establishment. This place is world renown for their irish coffees. That being said we threw back a few and headed out to the party.

I'm not gonna go into the details of the night because you just had to be there, but here's some pics of the evening. View Complete Album

Now I better get back to work for tomorrow is Monday and I have lots (understatement) of items due.
